Returns & near-expiry policy

Near-expiry stock can be returned for credit — and we warn you before it becomes a problem. Medcy Pharma dispatches first-expiry-first-out, so you always receive sellable dating. If an item on your shelf is approaching expiry, you get an early alert and can return it for credit rather than write it off. No chemist should lose money on stock that simply did not move.

How returns work

  1. You get an early alert. We flag near-expiry items well before the cut-off, so there is time to act.
  2. Raise the return. Mark the item and quantity, with its batch number, in the app or tell us on WhatsApp.
  3. We collect it. Returns are picked up with your next delivery, or dropped at our Birhana Road store.
  4. Credit is applied. The value is credited against your account and shown on your next bill.

What can be returned

SituationAccepted
Near-expiry stock, within the return window, in saleable conditionYes — for credit
Damaged or short-supplied on deliveryYes — tell us the same day and we replace or credit it
Wrong item sent by usYes — our mistake, our cost
Already expired stockHandled case by case under the manufacturer's expiry policy
Cold-chain items opened or out of temperature controlNo — for patient safety these cannot be resold

Items must be in original packaging with the batch and expiry legible. Keep the strip or box intact and the return goes through without friction.

Why we do it this way

A chemist's real cost is not the rate on the invoice — it is the stock that dies on the shelf. Sending fresh dating and taking back what did not sell is simply how a distributor should behave.

“Sell only what you would happily buy yourself.” We would not want dead stock either.
